What is 1-MCP?
1-MCP (1-methylcyclopropene) is a synthetic compound that is commonly used as a plant growth regulator and a postharvest tool to extend the shelf life of fruits,vegetables and flowers.
When applied to crops, 1-MCP binds irreversibly to ethylene receptors, preventing ethylene from binding to them and triggering the natural ripening and senescence processes. This results in delayed ripening, reduced decay, and improved quality of the produce.

1-MCP Application

The Use Of PlanFresh™ 1-MCP
Chesen BioChem PlanFresh™ 1-MCP is a sugar-based formulation. Above all, active ingredient of the formulation is 1-MCP gas. The gas will release in cold rooms when it encounters enough moisture. After that, it interacts with ethylene receptors. Therefore it inhibit ethylene on the fruits, consequently keep fruits freshness.
